We are looking for a Senior Product Manager, Growth, to join our Product team to work on growing the Flipboard user base. The Product team at Flipboard drives strategy and execution of Flipboard’s product roadmap covering user acquisition, engagement and monetization. The SPM, Growth will hold a pivotal role for the company, by optimizing organic acquisition funnels and the app onboarding experience, while also managing contextual communications to users via email, push, and in-product channels.

In this role, you will wield data as a powerful tool that will illuminate and inform your development of our strategy to improve 7-day user retention as well as the performance of other major organic acquisition funnels. You should excel at building engaging experiences with highly contextual and personalized messages that guide users through their journey. You should be passionate about growth, know the difference between growth loops and funnels, and know how to apply those concepts to drive performance of key metrics.


  • Own our 7-day retention strategy, from driving users into our service through onboarding, and the first 7-day experience
  • Identify and build, analyze and refine new growth levers that can help increase user acquisition, conversion and retention
  • Optimize existing organic acquisition funnels across web and app clients
  • Optimize the onboarding flow so that users are set up for success within the product
  • Identify actionable opportunities to improve the funnel and onboarding performance through A/B testing and analysis and best practices
  • Present updates on strategy and results to leadership
  • Make data-driven decisions and work cross-functionally with Growth, Product, Design, and Engineering teams

Desired Skills & Experience

  • B.S. or M.S. degree and 5+ years of experience in product management with a primary focus on growth, funnel optimization, onboarding, email and/or push notifications
  • A/B & multivariate testing experience
  • Preferably proficient with SQL
  • Experience with Email + Push platforms (e.g. Responsys, Exact Target, Braze, Leanplum, Urban Airship) is a plus but not required
  • Highly disciplined and organized, self-motivated, looking for growth
  • Great communication skills and a strong desire to learn
  • You’re not just repeating a playbook; you’re looking at every problem with fresh eyes and digging deep for insights and solutions
  • Highly analytical with strong skills and judgment to break down challenging problems and come up with solutions
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills
