Marketer Spotlight: Let Jim Stengel Be Your Guide to Cannes Lions
Business Blog / June 19, 2015
For ad and marketing execs, Cannes Lions is the event of the year: It’s the world’s largest gathering of advertising, digital and marketing people, with endless deals discussed and debated overlooking the French Riviera. For the rest of us, Cannes Lions is usually enjoyed at a distance through articles, pictures and, of course, on social media.
Author, educator and former CMO Jim Stengel uses the gathering, which starts on Sunday, as an opportunity to give a select group of CMOs and senior marketing directors inspirational and actionable training in their ever-changing landscape.
This year, Jim has also created a resource guide, in the form of a Flipboard Magazine, full of personal tips, packing information, restaurant choices and industry news. Now each of us, with the help of a pro, can become part of the conversation (even if we aren’t there to enjoy a cocktail at a fabulous party overlooking the Riviera).
Jim’s broader focus is around helping brands center their businesses on the idea of improving people’s lives by “identifying and activating a distinctive ideal” or purpose. He has also created a Flipboard magazine centered around the topic of “Brand Purpose” to highlight the companies who are activating their brand purpose.
Enjoy Jim’s magazines, and share them with anyone who’s going to Cannes Lions or is curious about his marketing philosophies.
