In the 365 days since we launched the Dot Social podcast about the fediverse, we’ve recorded 16 conversations with many of the social web’s most important developers, thinkers and entrepreneurs. It’s been a thrill to have a front-row seat to how this group of innovators is thinking about the future of social media — which, to be clear, at this point also represents the future of the web itself.
Our host, Flipboard CEO Mike McCue, talked to the co-author of ActivityPub; the founder of Mastodon; the builders at Threads; the CEOs of Ghost and Medium; journalists; a crypto critic/researcher-writer; trust and safety warriors; and many more. This episode with Bluesky CEO and Founder Jay Graber is popping right now as users flee X in favor of a more trustworthy network. After watching the video, one commenter on our YouTube channel wrote: “Jay is the chill businessman Elon thinks he is.” Preach.
We have one more episode coming out in 2024, with Erin Kissane and Darius Kazemi, so make sure you subscribe to the Dot Social podcast via our PeerTube or YouTube channels, or find the show wherever you get your podcasts. In the meantime, we made some YouTube Shorts from five noteworthy episodes so you can glean some key insights in fast fashion.
We plan to be back in 2025 with new episodes that will continue to explore how the social web is going to revolutionize our online experiences.
