The New York Times has been called the most influential newspaper in the world. Its stories—whether in print, on its website or in its apps—are read by presidents and queens, sheiks and prime ministers, editors, bloggers and broadcast producers everywhere. It has won more Pulitzer Prizes (108) than any other newspaper, and, throughout its 161 years, has championed freedom of the press through a variety of historic legal battles ranging from from U.S. v. Sullivan to the Pentagon Papers. What The Times says, matters. Starting today, The New York Times is available on Flipboard. The Times, which invented a “porous†paywall for its website, is making its Top News feed available, free, to all Flipboard users. However, in a first for The Times, and for us, paying subscribers can now also read the entire newspaper, right here. Tap the red ribbon, select Accounts, then The New York Times, and follow the prompts. (To buy a subscription, go to iTunes.) Once your Times account is set up, you can switch among your favorite sections of the paper by tapping The Times’s masthead (top, center of page) to reveal the nested menu. Inside, you’ll find virtually every section of The New York Times, including the Sunday Magazine, the Book Review and T Magazine, the fashion supplement. All of The Times’s blogs are also optimized for viewing on Flipboard, from Bits (the tech blog) to Bats (a baseball blog).
