For Valentine’s Day Flipboard team members are sharing their love and appreciation for Magazines and curators they follow.

Running Long

We often make Valentine’s Day about loving others, but it can also be about loving yourself. Long-distance running taught me how to be alone and how to relate to my body, mind, and emotions. For me it’s an exercise in meditation and self-love. This magazine spans the spectrum of long-distance running, from racing news and training tips to fastpacking adventures and philosophical reflections. I love it! — Conor Brendan Dunne, topics editor.

Messy Love

With this Magazine, psychotherapist Margaret Garvin delves into the complexity and psychology of relationships with a significant other. It’s full of stories that help you understand why some people struggle with commitment and how that’s related to our attachment styles; why your partner can push your buttons and how the strong emotions you experience as a result may be related to your childhood. There are also plenty of stories on ways to thrive in a relationship and what you can do to make your partner feel loved. — Christel van der Boom, head of communications.

New Orleans Happiness

In the words of Bob Dylan, “There are a lot of places I like, but I like New Orleans better.” I love the food scene, live music, beautiful architecture, rich history, and, of course, the wonderful people. If you want to explore the sites, sounds, and tastes of New Orleans, follow this beautiful Magazine by Victor Moruzzi. — Jessica Jordan, community and marketing lead.

TIL

I like to learn something new every day and this Magazine full of funny and interesting facts has taught me a lot since I started following it. My favorite fun fact is that the head of Nintendo of America has the last name Bowser (which is also the name of one of the more popular characters in Mario). — Kelsey Seber, community engagement manager.

Europe Travels

I like that this has inspiration for short trips (for those of us in the U.K.) and longer ones. Whether you’re interested in sunshine, snow, beaches or cities there’s lots of perfect 2023 ideas. There are also often places I would never have thought about, such as Estonia, Romania and Montenegro. — Jessica Elsey, international managing editor.

CAFFÈ | CAFÉ | KAFE | مقهى | COFFEE

I aspire to her knowledge of gear, beans and general caffeine nerdery as I sip my basic Starbucks brew. — Aileen Lalor, lifestyle editor.

Wet Plate Conversations

I love this Group Magazine by wet plate photographer Markus Hofstätter. Not only is he a kind person and so knowledgeable about his craft, but also he’s invited other wet plate photographers to join him in sharing stories about this old-fashioned technique. The very best part? These sepia-toned images are a joy to look at. The Magazine is technical and artistic and will take you back to an era of photography when things were slower and more intentional.  Mia Quagliarello, head of creator community.

Book Your Imagination

I’m obsessed with books and this is jam-packed with reads I wouldn’t find on my own, with some useful nuggets of writing wisdom peppered in there too. It’s curation like this that keeps my love of books alive and it’s inspired me to make my own Magazine about writing. — Yasmin Bacchus, morning news editor.
