Back-to-school season comes around every year, so how does it catch us by surprise every time? One second you’re videoing the end-of-year show. The next, you’re wondering how they managed to grow a foot between June and August, panicking over how you’ll transition them from a noon wakeup time to 6 a.m., and blowing the dust (and other accumulated grossness) off their lunch bags.

Luckily for us, our publisher and creator friends always have the goods on making things easier. Here are six Magazines and Storyboards to check out.

1) Back-to-School, Simplified featuring Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, and Kaavia

For parents and kids who want practical tips and emotional support for settling in, there’s this Storyboard from Parents. It has stories about handling the end-of-summer scaries, preventing back-to-school burnout, advice on the best backpacks and shoes, and even words of wisdom from famous parents like Gabrielle Union.

2) The Best Back-to-School Lunch Ideas

Children fed up with cheese sandwiches but you have no idea what to put in their lunchbox? PureWow has compiled lunch recipes, including kebabs, salads and wraps, plus a breakdown of great containers to put everything in.

3) Straight A’s in Back-to-School Savings

Blogger A Dime Saved has created a Storyboard for anyone who’s dreading the cost of all those pens, notebooks and new clothes (not to mention the laptops!). It’s full of money-saving tips, what supplies you might skip, ideas on reducing the cost of transportation, and when it doesn’t make sense to buy in bulk.

4) It’s 5:15 p.m.—What’s for Dinner? 20 Quick & Easy Ideas to Make Tonight

If you’re looking for easy evening meals, check out this collection from Eating Well. It’s got five-ingredient recipes for when you need to shop the pantry, 15-minute dinners you can throw together between piano and Girl Scouts, and meal plans featuring high-protein dishes and no-added-sugar ideas.

5) The Eater College Dining Plan

College students may be more focused on where they can get cheap food and drinks than the price of pencils. Eater has compiled this collection that details restaurants and bars near university campuses all over the USA.

6) Back to School

We’re also consolidating all the back-to-school advice we can find in our Flipboard Magazine. There, you’ll discover ideas for every age group, including recipes, product guides and ideas for how to support your child.

Good luck to you and your little (and not-so-little) ones! We hope back-to-school is smooth and happy. Next stop…Halloween!
