It’s been four years since author Gretchen Rubin published The Happiness Project, a book in which she studies happiness and methodically imbues as much of it as possible into her life. Is she still glowing from that euphoric year? What actually stuck from her journey? (Goodbye, gratitude journal.) Considering that her next book, which she’s currently writing, is about how people adopt habits, we could think of no better person to mine for insights on how to feel more productive and in control of our lives. Rubin welcomed us into her immaculate NYC home to discuss all this, her own productivity techniques, the digital and analog tools that get her through life and what she does when she’s feeling irresponsible.
