My name is Joe Toohey and my love of storytelling led me to working at NBC News. I use Flipboard as a major news source / time waster / interesting stuff finder. I enjoy reading on Flipboard because it covers everything. I can be reading an article about the 2016 presidential race and one flip later I’m reading about oceans underneath one of Jupiter’s moons. I’m always able to find interesting, different stuff. The first few sites I read in the morning are Twitter to see what’s happening. I then go to the NBC Political Unit’s morning newsletter called First Read. Throughout the day I’m always on The Verge, The New York Times and Washington Post, and I probably spend too much time on tech, camera and Apple rumor sites like Re/code, PetaPixel and 9to5Mac.

I follow my family and girlfriend on Flipboard. But more than individual people, I follow a ton of magazines about DSLR video, lenses and, since I’m now a cat-owner-by-proxy, I follow cats. The best article I read all week was this one about an “impossible” rocket drive that could get to the moon in four hours, Mars in 70 days and Pluto in 18 months. That’s pretty cool. My favorite topic on Flipboard is easy: space and cameras. My biggest influence is my parents. They’ve done it right and I’d be lucky to be as happy as they are in life. My “media diet” includes all hours of NBC News programming, of course—and a lot of Netflix. A unique productivity tip of mine is no such thing as too much coffee, always write things down—you’ll always be better off—and Evernote. ~ShonaS is reading “The HandbookGET FLIPBOARD ON: iOS / ANDROID / WINDOWS / WEB FOLLOW US ON: FLIPBOARD / TWITTER / INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK / GOOGLE+ / TUMBLR / YOUTUBE / SOUNDCLOUD / PINTEREST / MEDIUM
