My name is Victoria Dare and I’m a creative who’s learning to appreciate the journey. I left the tech industry to be a full time mom and homeschool my children. I have a passion for the creative process; all things that technology has to offer; expanding my thought process; and collectively learning about the world and from others in it. I use Flipboard because I can get lost in so many diverse magazines. I love to see the ingenious titles and content from fellow enthusiasts. I always walk away learning something; some infuriating, some eye-opening and many aha moments. I appreciate that, always. I also use it to discover clever tidbits to help plan some of my homeschool lessons. The first few sites I read in the morning are: The Daily Edition and Flipboard Technology. Flipboard helps me unwind, I open and close my day with it. I can get bored at times reading books cover to cover, and Flipboard helps me get my love of reading in. I can flit from topic to topic and not get lost if I have walk away. The best article I read recently was about procrastination. The article was entitled “The Akrasia Effect: Why We Don’t Follow Through on What We Set Out to Do and What To Do About It.” I flipped that into my Thought Process magazine if you are interested in reading it. My “media diet” includes Flipboard and Feedly. A unique productivity tip of mine is: If you focus on procrastinating, you never get to the next step. I think you have to just pick a starting point and BEGIN. One issue that needs more attention is: Humility. Kindness. Forgiveness. Understanding. Seriously, I couldn’t pick ONE. If I could offer one piece of advice to my younger self, it would be: Humility. Kindness. Forgiveness. Understanding. And to keep moving forward. Don’t waste your time dwelling in the past or future! BE PRESENT FOR THIS MOMENT.
