Since the 2024 election, the headlines have been bleak. Ever-rising gas prices and grocery bills. The growing existential threat of AI. Nasty ICE encounters and deportations. A never-ending war with Iran. Secretive data center deals with no community input. It’s no wonder many of us have reduced our news consumption, either out of disgust or to protect our mental health.

But it’s time to tune back in, my friends. The midterm elections are just weeks away and we need informed voters casting their ballots. At Flipboard, we are continuing our mission to bring fact-based journalism to the public.

For this election season, we bring you Vote 2026, a collection of topical Magazines, all curated by our experienced editorial team (yep, we still believe in humans). The content is accurate, timely, and it all comes from vetted, reputable publishers. We’re going heavy on fact checks, explainers and analysis; and light on the name-calling and clickbait. And we’re elevating trusted independent media and journalists who have struck out on their own.

Vote 2026 introduces some new Magazines: The Economy Election, The ICE Election and The AI Election. Plus there are dedicated Magazines on The House, The Senate, State and Local, and Fact Check. All of these collections are available in the app and on flipboard.com. Starting Oct. 1, the Vote 2026 coverage will be anchored in the Flipboard home carousel, so you can easily tap and tune in for the latest.

If you prefer partisan coverage that fits your worldview, you can find many of your favorites from the right and left on Flipboard. Follow publications like National Review, Raw Story, The Washington Times, and Daily Kos to get their coverage regularly in your For You feed.

And if you’re a glutton for punishment (i.e. a true politics junkie), you can follow our #Politics topic. It’s more of the firehose of political journalism and commentary, but even here our machine learning team takes special care to avoid publishers who spout misinformation or disinformation.

We’re also bringing back our politics newsletter, running every Tuesday starting Oct. 6. Flipboard users can follow #Politics or the Vote 2026 Magazine on Flipboard to get it, or sign up directly on our newsletter page by selecting Politics Rundown.

Last but certainly not least is a friendly reminder to register, check your voter registration and learn your options for voting. Despite a concerted campaign to end mail-in ballots, the Supreme Court recently stopped those efforts. You can still vote by mail or vote early in many states. Our How to Vote Magazine has great resources so you can learn more.

Our goal with all of this coverage is to help you educate yourself. Start reading, cast your vote and let’s make democracy work.
