Our Cannes Lions reporters with Unilever’s Keith Weed[/caption] Cannes Lions launched a new award this year called the Glass Lion. The honor focuses on creative work that examines gender equality and prejudice. As such, many folks at the festival had these topics on their minds for discussion. Here’s part 2 of our report from Cannes:
- The New York Times and JWT hosted an engaging panel discussion called “ASK HER: How to manage gender equality in the workplace” at the IPSOS Girls’ Lounge on the top floor of the Martinez hotel. Moderated by Meredith Levien, CRO of The New York Times, panelists included Tina Brown, Maureen Dowd, Thalia Mavros, Windsor Hangar and Kat Gordon from 3 percent conference. The discussion covered communications around Hillary Clinton’s run for office, empowering young woman to ‘lean in,’ and female entrepreneurs navigating getting the right investors.
- In addition to leading a great panel discussion, The New York Times published a custom newspaper which they were distributing at the Cannes event.
- As one of our final events before leaving town, Unilever generously hosted an afternoon lunch for their partners at La Guerite on the Island de Marguerite. (Thanks to Keith Weed and the whole Unilever team for a terrific afternoon.) In addition to crafting “brands for life,” they’re definitely crafting great partnerships, too.
