Last month we launched our creator program, and it’s been exciting to see who’s applied to become an official part of our creator community. We’ve reviewed 62 percent of the applicants so far, and each week we let a handful know that they’ve been admitted into the Flipboard Creator Collective. The Collective unlocks special perks and programs, valued at over $200K per month, to help creators be successful on Flipboard and off.

With 30 admitted into the Collective the first month, representing a dozen countries, most members are bloggers covering food, tech, travel, news, photography, climate or personal finance. There are also YouTubers, and Substack and Medium writers in the mix. Many have been active on Flipboard for a while, others are just getting started or dusting off their accounts.

Each month, on Inside Flipboard, we’ll showcase five creators (out of many) we think you should know. Of course, if you’re a creator yourself, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the offering and apply if you meet the criteria.

And now, without further ado, here are five #CreatorsWeLove in the Creator Collective:

2FoodTrippers: Husband-and-wife team Daryl and Mindi Hirsch focus on culinary travel, food, recipes, coffee and cocktails. Winner of Saveur’s Best Travel Blog in 2018, the couple splits their home base between Portugal and the U.S. Wherever they are, they always seek out desserts, fried chicken, noodles, pizza, salads, sandwiches, and soup. Yum.

Lindsey Gamble: Lindsey is a creator and influencer marketer who shares the most important news in the influencer marketing, creator economy, and social media space in his newsletter and on Flipboard. He is also a LinkedIn Top Voice and was named a “rising star of the creator economy” by Business Insider in 2022.

• Markus Hofstätter: A photographer based in Austria, Markus specializes in wet plate photography. On his YouTube channel and blog, he documents everything from large-format cameras he builds from scratch to amazing tintype inspiration. Markus is essential reading for people interested in this photography technique. You can interact with him too in his Group Magazine, “Wet Plate Conversations.”

Nik Sharma of A Brown Table: Nik is a two-time James Beard finalist cookbook author, photographer, and columnist at Serious Eats and Food52. He’s also been a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and The Guardian and regularly wrote for the New York Times Food section. He has a cookbook coming out this fall.

Patrick Stewart of The Taoist Online: Patrick converted to Taoism after being raised Christian in his youth. The Taoist Online is an online magazine written by a community of writers from Medium as well as other articles he’s curated from around the web. The publication aspires to become “the ultimate destination where souls thirsting for enlightenment, restoration, and transformation can find nourishment and guidance.”

Want to get in on the action? Apply today. We’ll be back next month with more creators you should know on Flipboard.
